Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia, has been on Rides4Fun's radar for several years and is a new addition to the schedule for 2026. With the help of our marketing partner Backroads or Appalachia and their team, we are finally able to offer this event for our guests to enjoy.
Ask anyone that has visited the area, and they will tell you this region of the state has some of the best motorcycle roads in America. The area also offers miles of primitive county gravel/dirt roads for the adventure rider to explore.
The people are what really make a trip to the Central Appalachia Mountain Region so special, as the locals are welcoming the motorcycling community with open arms. In this area, there is great riding to enjoy with very little traffic to interrupt the rhythm of the road.
The event location is an easy day ride to many of West Virginia's best natural wonders. You can enjoy day rides to Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls and Seneca Rocks -- just to name a few. Charleston, West Virginia, lays just to the south with plenty of history to share with visitors. For those looking for a bucket-list item to check off, don't miss Hillbilly Hotdogs on the Ohio River in Lesage, WV. For those craving more mountains, Snowshoe Mountain Resort is a great day trip. While over by Snowshoe, make sure and check out Cass, West Virginia, and consider a relaxing scenic train ride.
The park offers over 1,900 acres of serenity for you to enjoy. The park's lodge and cottages have great, glistening views of Jackson Lake which encompasses 2,600 acres and over 82 miles of shoreline. It is also surrounded by some of the state's best hiking. There is also tent and RV camping alongside of Jackson Lake. Imagine how relaxing it will be to wake up after a peaceful night beside a clear mountain lake. The lodge features Adirondack architecture dating back to 1921 with renovations to include modern amenities.
There will be plenty to explore by motorcycle in the region, but, if you're looking for a relaxing day or evening, the resort also features an excellent spa.

Lake Run allows guests to enjoy a shorter ride and return to enjoy time off of their motorcycles. It includes some excellent roads and scenery, while staying close to the resort. This 98-mile route will provide time to enjoy the sights but also soak up the resort’s many amenities, like a trip to the spa.
Helvetia, the Latin name for Switzerland, is an out and back track at 95 miles long. This isolated Swiss Colony in Randolph County was settled by German speaking immigrants in 1869. This option offers guests the opportunity for lunch at the Hutta restaurant, as well as shopping and time to explore.
As the name implies, Edge of Mon introduces guests to the Monongahela National Forest. This one-million-plus acre area includes the southern section of the Allegheny and offers some of West Virgina’s most scenic roads, with plenty of wildlife sightings, as it covers diverse ecosystems. It’s 144 miles in length. For photo opportunities, this route includes both the geographical center of West Virgina and one the state’s popular Almost Heaven swings.
Rooster Run is the shortest route, at 66 miles, with a visit to historic Weston, West Virginia. Along the route, guests will find the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. This landmark from the 1800s offers lots of history, including Civil War raids and gold robberies. The asylum offers paranormal tours to allow guests the opportunity to connect with the property’s past. While in Weston and exploring the asylum, make sure and save some time to visit the American Glass Museum.
The Big One is the longest route of the five street routes provided for our guests: at 178 miles. These carefully selected roads highlight the views and terrain that West Virgina is famous for, providing everything a motorcyclist would enjoy during day in the wind.
The Adventure Route is big-bike friendly and was laid out with riders on larger adventure bikes with 90/10 tires in mind. When not on hard surface roads, the 128-mile route will use many gravel and graded dirt roads that the area is famous for, highlighting both excellent riding and backcountry scenery. It also serves up several thousand feet of elevation changes to keep riders entertained.
Stonewall Resort State Park will be the base of operations for the event.
